Moon River Sur-Dordogne

At the very edge of the gorgeous Dordogne River in the heart of the Black Périgord you’ll find “Moon River”. Built in 1835, lovingly restored and developed into a Grande Maison & three modern cottages. Genuinely perfectly positioned for you to experience all that this calm dreamlike region has to offer. Historically owned by a wealthy trader during area’s tobacco boom who moved moved goods along the Dordogne. The majestic river view from front of house is truly healing.

You cannot get a better location in region!!…We are located in the Valley of Castles 15 km from Sarlat, in the “golden triangle” of the Black Périgord. “Moon River sur Dordogne” cozies up to the banks of the Dordogne river. The main house “Moon River” and three guest cottages, respectfully named after tributaries that flow into the Dordogne river La Gardonette, L’Enéa Terrasse, and La Marcillande make a perfect relaxing base to explore this beautiful region. Anchored steps from your door the Dordogne calmly flows and leads you to enjoy amazing views as you stroll the peaceful hiking trails that begins from our estate. It’s genuinely an easy 15 minute walk to the village center of Saint Cyprien allows easy access to the bakery, stores & cafes. The vibrant Sunday Farmers Market is one of the best in region and offers the best natural produce the area has to offer.
